Our Method

The True Yoga Method. Rooted in Hatha & Ashtanga Yoga

The True Yoga Method is inspired by classical Hatha Yoga
and Ashtanga Yoga traditions, applied intelligently to modern life.

Our weekly classes, therapy-style sessions, and courses all draw
from the same clear foundation.

Ashtanga Yoga

A time tested clear and dynamic, breath-led practice that builds strength, focus and inner stability.

• flowing movement with conscious breathing
• develops strength, flexibility and stamina
• taught in a traditional, supportive way

Hatha Yoga

A calm, mindful practice focused on alignment, balance and awareness develops a state of flow and inner healing.

• slower pace with clear guidance

FAQ

Most common asked and useful question answers for True Yoga Studio

What kind of yoga is taught at True Yoga Studio Heidelberg?

True Yoga Studio teaches a method inspired by Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga traditions, adapted intelligently for modern life.

Our classes focus on precise breathing, balanced posture, mental awareness, and nervous system regulation. The practice is calm, structured, and sustainable — not fitness-oriented or performance-driven.

Yes. Many students start with little or no yoga experience.

Classes are taught in small groups, with clear guidance and options. You do not need to be flexible or fit. The practice builds gradually, with attention to breath, alignment, and confidence.

We recommend starting with the 14-Day Trial Pass.

It can be both — depending on the class.

Hatha-based and therapy-style classes are slower and more grounding.

Ashtanga-inspired classes are more dynamic, structured, and strength-building.

All classes share the same foundation: breath awareness, balanced effort, and mental clarity.

Yes. This is one of the main reasons people come to True Yoga Studio.

Our method supports the nervous system through:

  • conscious breathing

  • steady rhythm

  • balanced posture

  • reduced performance pressure

Many students report feeling calmer, sleeping better, and coping more clearly with daily stress over time.

Yes.

Many of our students come with back, neck, or shoulder discomfort from sitting, screen work, or stress. Classes focus on posture awareness, pelvic stability, and balanced movement.

If you have pain or injuries, teachers offer modifications and guidance.

At True Yoga, both are part of one method.

Hatha Yoga provides the foundation — alignment, breath, awareness, and stability.

Ashtanga Yoga adds rhythm, structure, and breath-led movement.

We do not teach rigid or competitive Ashtanga. Principles are adapted progressively and accessibly.

Classes are taught primarily in English, with simple German support when needed.

True Yoga Studio welcomes international students and expats living in Heidelberg and the Rhein-Neckar area.

Classes are intentionally small, usually 6–10 people.

This allows for:

  • personal guidance

  • individual adjustments

  • a calm, focused atmosphere

We do not run crowded classes.

The best way to start is the 14-Days Welcome Trial Pass (€39).

It allows you to:

  • try different classes

  • feel how your body and mind respond

  • decide calmly how you want to continue

Most people attend 3–6 classes during the trial.

After the trial, you can continue with:

  • flexible class passes

  • or monthly memberships (True Essential, True Core, or True Unlimited)

Most regular students choose a membership for consistency and better value.

You can explore options on the Passes & Memberships page.

No.

Flexibility is not a requirement — it is something that develops naturally with consistent practice. Our focus is on awareness, balance, and stability, not extreme poses.

Absolutely.

Many students return to yoga after a long break. Classes are structured so you can rebuild gently and safely, without pressure.

For most people:

  • 1× per week helps maintain balance

  • 2× per week brings noticeable change

  • regular practice brings the best results

We help you find a rhythm that fits your life.
